Forthcoming Shows at the Carnegie Hall.

Fresh from appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe earlier this month, the hillbilly four-piece The Wilders will whirl into Dunfermline on 28th September.

Other acts confirmed for the series of shows include flute player Michael McGoldrick on 27th September and Moishe’s Bagel, a five-piece Jewish folk group, on 17th October.

Quebec group Genticorum will play on 31st October before Scottish piper Fred Morrison finishes the series off on 14th November.

Billy Ocean – touring for the first time in 20 years – will make his only Scottish appearance this year at the hall on 26th October.

Singing his hits, such as Love Really Hurts Without You and When The Going Gets Tough, fans of the pop icon are in for a treat.

Katy Setterfield – winner of BBC One’s The One and Only – will play the venue on 14th, October with her Dusty Springfield tribute act.

Just back from Las Vegas, Katy is no stranger to the Carnegie Hall, having previously appeared there in That’ll Be The Day.

For the kids, old favourites The Singing Kettle will be on stage on 4th and 5th October.

Youngsters are being reminded to dress up as their favourite pirate to get on board the HMS Kettle in this ocean-themed show.

Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs – based on the bestselling book and top-rated cartoon – will also make an appearance in the hall on 15th October.

One of the biggest-selling classical stars of recent years will come to Dunfermline on 20th October when 21-year-old Hayley Westenra performs.

The New Zealand singer will make her first visit to West Fife on the back of her latest album, Pure, and tickets for the Dunfermline show are already sold out.

Staying with the classical theme, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra will take to the stage on 10th January 2009.

The orchestra will perform a selection of waltzes, polkas, mazurkas and operetta arias.

Performing Swan Lake, Ballet Ireland will make a welcome return to the Carnegie Hall on 11th November.

The company is touring Swan Lake in celebration of its 10th birthday as it was one of the first productions it ever toured with.

For the ageing rockers out there, Dunfermline group the Falcons will be gigging at the hall on 18th October.

As well as playing all the classics from the 1950s through to the 1990s, the group will be joined on stage by some special guests including former member Jimmy Bryce.

And on 12th November, a leather-clad Alvin Stardust will relive 50 years of rock n’ roll with his classic covers show.

Drama production Fleeto also appears on the schedule for 13th October.

Set in Glasgow, the play is inspired by the Iliad and examines the problems of knife crime and gang culture in Scotland.

The play will also feature members of Carnegie Youth Theatre but comes with a very strong language warning from producers.

This year’s pantomime will see out 2008 with the usual high quality that can be expected from the annual production.

Staring Louise Stewart as Sleeping Beauty and running throughout December, the panto will offer festive fun for all the family.
