QE2 Last Visit to Scottish Waters on October 7th - Viewing Details

Fife Council has announced the best viewing places to see the QE2 when she makes her final voyage from Scottish waters next Tuesday evening, October 7.
The Council has arranged three main viewing points: Ballast Bank near Inverkeithing, St Davids Harbour and the Fife Coastal Path near Dalgety Bay and Haugh Road Settling Ponds at Burntisland. Facilities including parking and toilets are available at or near them.
The QE2 will berth off the Edinburgh/ Fife Coastline from 10am that morning. There will be a flypast of jets from RAF Leuchars at 5pm. Tugs will start to manouvere the ship into sailing position at 5.10pm and, weather permitting, they may perform a series of manoeuvres whilst operating the water spray known as "Dancing Tugs" before the ship sets sail at 6pm.
"Anyone planning to see the QE2 should allow a little extra time than normal as the vessel will sail during rush hour. Also, if the weather is bad, then viewing from Burntisland may be limited. Local road closures and parking restrictions will be in place.
