Son et Lumiére (Festival of Light)
Brought to you by Dunfermline Delivers. The centre piece of this year’s Winter Festival is the spectacular Son et Lumière event at Dunfermline Abbey, taking place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December.
Literally translated as Sound and Light, the show will captivate its audience by drenching the Abbey in an array of stunning lighting effects to the accompaniment of an enchanting soundtrack of seasonal music.
Inside the Abbey the dramatic lighting will be the backdrop to a choral carol performance that is sure to stir the festive emotions.
Outside the atmospheric visual effects across the surrounding ruins of the Abbey, engulfing the Monastery and Nave will be mixed with an enticing sound track providing a tempo and ambience that will delight the audience as people wander around the grounds.
The Son et Lumière event will be the envy of other cities across Scotland and it’s sure to attract visitors from far and wide to the Abbey and to the town – so book your tickets early - all indoor ticket prices include the outdoor show.
Please note, strobe lighting is used in the show.
Time Slots as follows:
- Indoor Shows - 7.30pm and 8.30pm - Tickets £4, children under 12 free, (12-16 & concessions £2.50)
- Outdoor Shows - 5.00pm, 5.45pm, 6.30pm, 7.00pm & 8.00pm - Tickets £3, under 12s free (12-16 & concessions £2)
