Meeting with Iain Jones from KDM Group earlier this week was a pleasure. Iain is the Chief Executive of the Dalgety Bay-based company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary next year.
Since Iain formed the KDM on 1st August 1999 as a shop-fitting company, they have come a long way. These days, they offer turnkey solutions in the retail construction sector to clients such as Amazon, Google, Tesco, Asda, Morrison and Lids. They are also building new stables for the Jockey Club in England just now.
Iain said, 'Offering a complete solution to clients has given us an edge over many of our competitors. Traditionally, the type of projects we are involved in would have involved several contractors completing different job elements. Our clients love that we simplify things by providing a turnkey solution.'
KDM Group employs around 80 people, with approximately 50 involved as consultants or within the supply chain. They also just achieved the highest Health & Safety accreditation, 45001. These things make Iain very satisfied with how the company has performed recently.

Iain (a massive Dunfermline Athletic fan) is also proud of what they have given to the community over the years. Their most significant commitment to date has been our football club's stadium sponsorship. Now named KDM Group East End Park, it represents a long-term financial commitment to The Pars.
Other projects include sponsoring The Scottish Cup semi-finals and final a few seasons ago. They also fund SFA soccer centres for girls between the ages of 6-12, Finch Hampstead Girls and a semi-pro football team from Widnes.
We at Visit Dunfermline are proud to be associated with such a successful local company as they have recently become paid partners with us.
You'll hear much more about them as they go from strength to strength.
