The children of Dunfermline welcome the children of America

Dunfermline Junior Chorus’ summer concert will take place in The Vine on Saturday 9th June at 3pm. As well as our own four choirs (Senior Choir, Junior Choir, Music Makers and Wee Music Makers), we are delighted to have members of The St Louis Children’s Choirs taking part in our concert.

We are very pleased to welcome members of the Concert Choir along with Artistic Director Barbara Berner and accompanist Billie Derham. The St Louis Children’s Choir has just celebrated their 40th anniversary. Included in their Anniversary Concert last week was a commissioned arrangement of The Boatie Rows (a Scottish folk song) by Mandy Miller, written for their Music Makers.

Saturday’s programme includes songs from musicals and films, popular songs and songs from contemporary children’s choir repertoire. The concert will culminate in a performance of Auld Lang Syne and Highland Cathedral with Bagpipes.

Mandy Miller (Founder and Artistic Director of Dunfermline Junior Chorus) says: “I am thrilled to welcome SLCC back to Dunfermline to share music making and social time with our singers, not forgetting time to explore all that this historic town has to offer. In addition to what promises to be a magical afternoon of singing, DJC will then host a Ceildh with Scottish dancing and Scottish Fayre. All great fun”

This promises to be an afternoon of beautiful singing, so why not come along and hear the choirs for yourself? Tickets £5 (children free) are available at the door or from any member of Dunfermline Junior Chorus.
